  • The 65th regular session of the IAEA General Conference was held on Sep/20 in Vienna with the participation of the delegation headed by H.E. Mr. Mohammad Eslami Vice-President and head of the Atomic Energy Organization. The new AEOI chief while presenting an extensive statement elaborating on the main topics of Iran's peaceful nuclear programs, on the sideline of the session held separate meetings with Mr. Grossi, IAEA Director General and Mr. Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Russia's Rosatom State Nuclear co. discussing vital points of mutual interests.
  • On the meeting with IAEA D.G which was focused on technical issues and cooperation according to the set rules and regulations, Mr. Eslami stated the following remarks:
  • The meeting with the IAEA D.G was based on the talks held during his recent Tehran visit. It was agreed that the prevailing conditions should be considered, as a turning point, regarding the relations with the Agency combined with positive outlook. The emphasis was on technical issues and deployment of the Agency's set commitments so that Iran's nuclear programs could be further extended.
  • We have no deviation from our nuclear programs and the relations with the Agency should be expedited based on technical, professional rules and behavior devoid from political infiltrations.
  • Mr. Eslami described the meeting with Mr. Likhachev as constructive and amiable. He reiterated on the importance of electricity power generation for Iran, and indicated that in the future visit to Moscow, the procedure for accelerating the progress of Bushehr new power plant units will be thoroughly discussed.
